Privacy Policy

FixLink (“we”, “us”) provides a web app at usefixlink.com and the “FixLink Capture” Chrome extension. FixLink turns a support walkthrough into a branded, customer-ready guide link. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

The extension only captures activity when you start a recording, and only on the tab you are actively viewing. While recording, it collects:

• Click events and the visible label/role of the element you click.
• The URL and title of the active tab.
• Screenshots of the visible area of the active tab.

It never records what you type. Keystrokes and typed values are not captured. Password, email, payment, and token/secret fields are blurred before capture, and detected sensitive text (emails, long numbers, card numbers, secrets) is replaced with redacted placeholders. You can also manually blur anything on screen, or blur every input field, before it is captured.

A recording stays in your browser’s extension storage until you choose to save it to your FixLink account. Nothing is uploaded automatically. When you save a draft, the capture is sent to FixLink and stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) associated with your account. Guides you publish are accessible to anyone who has the link.

• Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Your brand settings (name, accent color) and account handle.
• Guides you create, their publish status, view counts, and solved/not-solved feedback.
• Referral attribution (which account referred you, and how many signups you’ve referred).

If you use “Polish with AI,” the text of that guide’s steps is sent to our configured AI provider to rewrite it into clearer, customer-friendly wording. We do not send your captured screenshots to the AI provider.

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use your data for advertising, and there are no ad trackers in the extension.
• We do not share your data with third parties except the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (for example hosting, database, email delivery, and AI cleanup).

If you upgrade to a paid plan, checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy. We do not receive or store your full card details; we receive confirmation of your subscription status to set your plan.

You can delete any guide at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@usefixlink.com and we will remove it.

FixLink is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
