Who we are
FixLink (“we”, “us”) provides a web app at usefixlink.com and the “FixLink Capture” Chrome extension. FixLink turns a support walkthrough into a clear, branded guide link. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What the Chrome extension accesses
The extension only captures activity when you start a recording, and only on the tab you are actively viewing. While recording, it collects:
- The recording title you enter.
- Click and field-change events, coordinates, and the visible label, role, and structural selector of the element.
- The active tab URL without its query string or fragment, plus the page title after sensitive-pattern redaction.
- Screenshots of the visible area of the active tab.
It can record non-sensitive typed text when that text is needed for a reproducible support step. Screenshot blur for likely sensitive fields is enabled by default. You can turn it off; if you do, screenshots may contain visible values, so review every screenshot before saving. Regardless of the screenshot blur setting, typed values from sensitive-looking fields are stored as [redacted], and detected sensitive text (emails, long numbers, card numbers, secrets) is replaced with redacted placeholders. You can also manually blur anything on screen, or blur every input field, before it is captured.
Where your captures go
While you record, steps stay in the extension side panel’s memory. When you choose “Save and review,” the draft is copied to Chrome extension storage and then to the FixLink capture page’s local browser storage. Nothing is uploaded automatically. The capture is sent to FixLink and stored in our Supabase-hosted database only after you choose to save it to your signed-in account. When an AI provider is configured, saved screenshots first pass through an automated privacy review that can identify and blur additional sensitive areas before storage. Guides you publish are accessible to anyone who has the link.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
FixLink’s use and transfer of information received from Chrome extension APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Account information we store
- Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Your brand settings (name, accent color) and account handle.
- Guides you create, their publish status, view counts, and solved/not-solved feedback.
- Referral attribution (which account referred you, and how many signups you’ve referred).
Optional AI features
If you use “Polish with AI,” the text of that guide’s steps is sent to the AI provider configured for FixLink: Ollama Cloud or OpenRouter. The provider rewrites it into clearer, customer-friendly wording. “Polish with AI” does not send your captured screenshots to the AI provider.
If you use video-to-guide drafting, FixLink sends selected frames from the video to the configured AI provider so it can create the draft. The feature runs only when you choose it.
When AI screenshot privacy review is available, FixLink sends screenshots to the configured provider as part of saving or publishing a guide. FixLink asks for redaction regions only and applies the returned regions before the screenshot is stored. Deterministic field and visible-text protection runs first and remains active when the AI provider is unavailable.

These providers receive only the information needed to perform the service described:
- Vercel hosts the FixLink web app and processes requests to it.
- Supabase provides account authentication and Postgres storage for account and guide data.
- Resend delivers transactional and private-feedback email using the relevant email address and message.
- Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, subscriptions, and billing details as FixLink’s merchant of record.
- Google receives sign-in information only when you choose Google sign-in.
- Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser and network signals when the signup abuse check is enabled.
- Ollama Cloud or OpenRouter receives guide text for AI polishing, selected video frames for video drafting, and screenshots for the privacy review described above when those AI features are configured.
